Compress files using ZIP

When submitting assignments or projects to your learning platform, you may be required to upload multiple documents as a single file. Compressing them into a ZIP archive is an effective solution. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to compress your files using ZIP, ensuring a smooth and organized submission process.

Compress files using ZIP (Windows)

  1. Navigate to the folder or files you want to compress.
  2. Highlight the items you wish to include in the ZIP archive. To select multiple files, hold down the [Ctrl] key on your keyboard and click on each file you wish to zip.
  3. Right-Click the selection and choose Select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder
  4. If you are adding many files to the new ZIP file folder, it may take a few moments to create it. The folder to be created in the same location as the original folder.
  5. You can rename the zip file as necessary.

Compress files using ZIP (Mac)

  1. Navigate to the folder or files you want to compress.
  2. Highlight the items you wish to include in the ZIP archive. You can command-click to select non-adjacent items.
  3. Control-click the selection and choose Compress untitled folder
  4. If you are adding many files to the new ZIP file folder, it may take a few moments to create it. The folder to be created in the same location as the original folder.
  5. You can rename the zip file as necessary.
